More Nordic Delight coming up!

Ever wanted to watch film and music in a medieval monastery? BG will again be part of the Nordic Delight Festival, where we will screen another great selection of the best Scandinavian student shorts!

On Saturday the 4th of October, the second edition of this very special festival takes place. The organisation has found an extraordinary spot to celebrate Nordic talents: The medieval buildings of Central Museum Utrecht. There will be a lot to discover in the fields of film, food, fine arts, design and most of all: music. The first acts and facts are announced today and tickets are available too!

The first confirmed Nordic acts are as promising as they are new to our lowlands. Their subtle, innovative character makes them really something to look out for. The line-up consists of an eclectic blend of delicate and melodious pop and folk, as well as the more gritty works in genres from dark post-punk to Avant Garde rock, ambient and hip hop to insanely danceable electronic acts. The first names are: Einar Stray Orchestra (NO), Árstíðir (IS), Get Your Gun (DK),The 1st (DK), Broke (DK)Wintergatan (SE) and Sekuoia (DK).

The cultural expedition continues in the kitchen, as Birgin Enni & Pontus Elofsson, both associated to the world’s best ranked restaurant Noma, will prepare delicious Nordic cuisine. Breaking Ground will set up an even more prominent film programme together with Lumière. This programme will contain exciting film master classes as well!

The location of this year's Nordic Delight Festival could not be any more unique: the Centraal Museum. The medieval monastery that is now home to the museum has a mystical character that fits Nordic Delight perfectly. Enjoy performances in the fairy tale-like monastery garden, dance till you drop in the newly designed garden room or admire works of art and fashion in the nearby Sonnenborgh Observatory; it’s all possible.

Curious? Listen to all confirmed acts here.

As these facts are only the start of a rich and promising line-up, it's best to just keep updated and find out your own favourites until October!

The upcoming European film talent we think is worth following. Discover the new Lars von Trier or Pedro Almodóvar.
