Breaking Ground @ Kriterion

Breaking Ground @ Kriterion

Previously known as 'Breaking Ground EU', our bimonthly screening event returns for another season!
We dropped the EU-part in the name, but of course we'll still be showing you a fantastic programme of European student shorts. And we're happy to say that the Kriterion Cinema, the student cinema in Amsterdam, will still be hosting us this year.

For our first edition of the year we've selected a not to be missed programme with the name: Breaking Ground - Trailblazers and Innovators. The four films we'll be showing you are all doing things a bit differently. They have all already won prices at festivals and are perfect examples of bold ways to make films.

The complete programme:
Rogalik (Pawel Ziemilski)
Onno de Onwetende (Viktor van der Valk)
Blindeling (Joanne van der Weg)
Plug and Play (Michael Frei)

To help us discuss these films we have a special guest: Jan Pieter Ekker!
This filmjournalist writes for Het Parool, Cinema,nl and De Filmkrant and is also in (advisory and selection) committees including the IDFA, The Hubert Bals Fund, Cinekid and the Media Fund.

And of course there will also be filmmakers present! Viktor van der Valk and Hanne Sinninghe (director and one of the producers of Onno de Onwetende) will join us and answer all your questions!

Hopefully you’ll join us for a night of innovative films, interestings guests and some good discussions with a beer afterwards.

So, note the date and the address:
