Breaking Shorts 2011 (16-20 March)

Breaking Shorts is the student competition of Go Short International Short Film Festival Nijmegen. In 2011 Breaking Ground selected the 20 European student films for the third edition of the festival. You can find all the films on the right side.

 

In 2011, the jury consisted of: Daan Bakker (Director for fiction films), Kristian Claas (editor) and Pedro Serrazina (animation filmmaker).

Parade by Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet won the Dioraphte encouragement award for best student film (the price: €5000).

[From the jury rapport:]“A refined and clever film, with a great sound design, that manages to successfully seduce the audience with its wonderful graphic world, while telling a story in a visually unique way.”


Also nominated were: The Eagleman Stag by Mickey Please and Jessi by Mariejosephin Schneider.

The jury gave a special mention to Ich Bin’s Helmut by Nicolas Steiner, “Because of its technical achievement and wit, and we look forward to seeing more of this filmmaker’s refreshing work in the near future.”
