Diede van Vree graduated in 2011 in Image & Media Technology at the Hogeschool der Kunsten in Utrecht and is now working as a freelancer. 
Diede's fascination with film and animation started while watching videoclips directed by Michel Gondry and Chris Cunningham and has never vanished since then.
At the end of 2010 Diede directed his first short film "Liquid Sun" shot in Ireland. "Liquid Sun" was selected for the LES film festival in New York and was nominated during the Roze Filmdagen for best short film.
"Liquid Sun" and his graduation film "Brommer op zee" were both screened at the Nederlands Film Festival 2011 where "Liquid Sun" was nominated for the Diorapthe Stimuleringsprijs for best student film.

Liquid Sun

The Irish economy has grown rapidly in the past twenty years but is about to collapse due to the recent economic crisis. The consequences are shown in this short film about a man who returns his Polish friend, an immigrant, back to the ferry.
